UPTON — Community Preservation Committee voted 5-2 to recommend $362,000 for Holy Angels Church. Chair Mike Penko moved the appropriation, supported by members Chris Scott, Craig Weinfuss, Chris Mehne, and Brian Gallagher, while Katherine Robertson and Rick Porter opposed. The funds, from the CPA historic resources account, would cover design, bidding, and construction of roof, steeple, facade, and building envelope improvements at the church located at 3 Milford Street.

A complementary $10,000 was recommended for the Historical Commission's preservation restriction consulting services. The committee also unanimously approved $4,106 for Seth Wood Boot Shop restoration and $114,282 for Risteen Building accessibility improvements, both projects managed by the Upton Historical Society.
