Conservation Commission approves Forest Heights conservation restriction

Upton Conservation Commission signs Forest Heights conservation restriction after Select Board negotiations. The Commission voted 4-0 to sign the conservation restriction for Forest Heights as the Select Board pursued resolution through negotiation, having offered $150,000 to holders who requested $300,000. Vice-Chair Mike Penko and member Marcella Stasa abstained due to their affiliations.
The Commission approved negative determinations for a utility pole replacement at 17-19 West Main Street and a tree-removal project at 75 Elm Street with conditions limiting removal to marked trees, while continuing several development projects to May 27 including a senior housing community and 45-unit townhouse complex.
