UPTON — Conservation Commission approves pool variance, seeks trail bridge funding for 2026. The Commission unanimously granted a variance to allow a 15-by-30-foot swimming pool within the 50-foot no-build buffer at 9 Claflin Farm Rd, with applicant Jonathan Caruso proposing permeable pavers and a drywell. In separate votes, the Commission approved a motion to seek $70,000 in CPC or town funding for Robertson Trail Bridge improvements and voted to submit two warrant articles: one requesting transfer of Forest Heights property from the Select Board to the Conservation Commission (4-0, with Chair Christine Scott, Vice-Chair Mike Penko, and member Marcella Stasa abstaining), and another seeking $15,000 to remove 11 dead trees near Whitney Conservation Area.
