UPTON — The Upton Council on Aging reviewed budget proposals that include funding for part-time program coordination and operating support. Director Tania Paparazzo reported the additions will provide relief for senior center staff. Social Services Coordinator Katie San Clemente outlined fraud prevention initiatives, with Detective Bergstrom scheduled to hold an educational session in June on identity theft and tax scams.
The FUSe volunteer group, now one year old, has grown to 72 members and will hold its first craft fair. The council declined to plan separate 250th Anniversary events at the center, noting five events already scheduled would make additional programming redundant.
