Upton aging services requests budget boost and staffing expansion. Elder and Social Services Director Tania Paparazzo submitted budget requests to the interim town manager including funding for a new Program Coordinator position at 19 hours weekly for $22,000 and elevation of the Social Services Coordinator role. The requests come as social service engagements have surged 107 percent from 2024 to 2025 and cases are increasing in intensity.

The department noted it cannot sustain current demand and programming long term without additional staffing.
