Economic Development Committee · Meeting of March 26, 2026

Upton Economic Development Committee advanced downtown vision and discussed grant funding for business improvements. Town Planner Michael Antonellis distributed his Planner's Report, and the committee explored grant opportunities to support downtown storefronts and Spaightwood Galleries, with member Eugene Bernat recommending Community Preservation Committee funding. Committee member Julie Joncas coordinated with Select Board Chair Laura Hebb on a town mixer initiative, agreeing to provide food before town board meetings and allow additional time for resident conversation.

The committee also noted the town will enter Safe Harbor status once a building permit is pulled at 47 Main Street, a previously approved 40B development.
