Upton Finance Committee reviews departmental budgets and capital improvement requests ahead of town meeting. The committee heard presentations from Police, Fire and EMS, Recreation, and Public Works departments during a joint meeting with the Select Board on March 17. Police Chief Nick Palmieri requested a 7.7 percent wage increase as the third year of the collective bargaining agreement.

Fire Chief Mike Marchand and former Police Chief Mike Bradley proposed a $117,000 budget increase including an additional paramedic-firefighter position. The Department of Public Works requested a $17 million debt exclusion for capital improvements, representing the construction phase of a $2.5 million design and engineering effort approved in Fall 2025.
