Upton Finance Committee reviews FY2027 budgets in joint session with Select Board. Mendon-Upton Regional School District Superintendent Dr. Maureen Cohen, Operations Manager Jay Byer, and School Committee Chair Jim Forkey presented the district's approved $5,968,180 budget increase, which impacts Upton with an additional $2,824,463 in assessment, a 19.25% increase from FY2026.
Elder Services Director Tania Paparazzo proposed elevation of a coordinator to director and addition of part-time staff, citing engagement growth exceeding 100% over the prior year. Library Director Matthew Bachtold requested a 4.5% budget increase. Finance Committee will review departmental budgets and warrant articles again on March 31 with Select Board.
