Library Trustees tighten rules on study room reservations

Upton Library Board of Trustees votes unanimously to tighten study room reservations. The board adopted rules requiring a library card to reserve rooms and limiting bookings to a maximum of two per week with three-hour sessions, a recommendation from Director Matthew Bachtold intended to better enforce the library's room use policy. The trustees also approved routine monthly vouchers and financial reports.
Bachtold reported that a new ESL program for non-native English speakers, run by volunteer Linda Katz, has attracted two to three participants per session since launching March 25.
