Upton Planning Board accepts solar farm filing and schedules senior housing continued hearing. The board accepted the 169 South Street solar farm filing as complete for peer review by DGT, with a public hearing set for May 26. The board also scheduled a continued hearing for April 28 on Bugsy, LLC's proposed 16-unit senior housing development at 0 Mechanic Street (Lantern Hill), with engineering peer review by Stantec.
Multiple abutters including residents at 38, 14, and 33 Mechanic Street raised concerns about traffic, environmental impacts, lighting, and neighborhood character during the public hearing. Town Planner Mike Antonellis announced the town was approved for $35,000 to update its Hazard Mitigation Plan.
