Select Board accepts Adams land donation, declines East Street option

Upton Select Board accepts 2.3-acre land gift, passes on East Street option. The Board voted unanimously to accept a donation from Peter and Penny Adams pending title search; with Chair Laura Hebb recused, members Maureen Dwinnell and Brett Simas voted to decline the town's right of first refusal on a separate 2.23-acre parcel under Chapter 61A. The Board also unanimously approved a $3,000 funding request from the William Knowlton Trust Fund for Senior Center events and accepted a $1,500 donation from Saint Gabriel Knights of Columbus for Elder and Social Services.
Interim Town Manager Dennis Westgate announced that Kristen Rubin will assume the Town Manager role on March 2.
