Select Board opens warrant for May town meeting, approves debt exclusion

Upton Select Board unanimously opens warrant, places debt exclusion and override on ballot. Chair Laura Hebb and members Maureen Dwinnell and Brett Simas voted unanimously on March 31 to open the May 7 Annual Town Meeting Warrant and to place a Highway Department building debt-exclusion question and a school operating override question on the ballot. The Board also unanimously approved an $8,754 appropriation from the Risteen D.
Beautification Trust Fund for Fireworks Festival safety expenses. Upton's Blackstone Valley Regional Vocational Technical High School assessment will increase by 10.74 percent for FY27, with state-mandated contributions accounting for approximately $165,000 of the increase.
