Select Board unanimously endorses public safety transition plan

Upton's Select Board unanimously endorses the public safety transition plan with staffing and promotion actions. Emergency Management Director and Fire Chief Bradley reported adding paramedic capacity through two new hires and completed training for two firefighter-EMTs, bringing the department to six paramedics and one firefighter-EMT on the full-time roster. The Board approved recommendations to promote Captain Daniel Lazarz to Assistant Chief and Call Firefighter-EMT Connor Schults and Fire Lieutenant Douglas Cook to Company Lieutenant positions.

Member Simas moved to endorse the Public Safety Transition Plan, with the motion passing unanimously.
