Upton Conservation Approves Peppercorn Hill Boardwalk Project

Upton Conservation Commission approves environmental applications with conditions. The board unanimously approved a 96-foot boardwalk at Peppercorn Hill Conservation Area for an Eagle Scout project, narrowing the design to two feet to mitigate wetland impact after state Department of Environmental Protection review; approved a stormwater permit for new construction at 15 Kiwanis Beach Road with required silt fence and raingarden; and issued a Negative Determination for a deck at 56 Shore Drive on Taft Pond with conditions requiring a five-foot native shrub buffer and cleanup of materials. Conservation Administrator Mary Overholt directed the boardwalk design strategy.
The Commission also authorized $1,500 to delineate property lines on the Robertson Family Conservation Restriction trail to enable possible trail relocation.
