Historical Commission designates 8 Maple Street historically significant
Historical Commission · Meeting of March 12, 2026
Upton Historical Commission designates 8 Maple Street historically significant. Commission Chair Craig Weinfuss moved the designation after developer Chuck Joseph of ReMax Hopkinton proposed purchasing and demolishing the property to construct a new house on the lot following the death of former owner Christopher Crawford. The commission voted unanimously in favor.
The commission also advanced First Cemetery work, noting an identifying sign has been erected and gate finalization is scheduled. Commission Chair Weinfuss will contact Select Board members and Town Manager Kristen Ruben regarding roof repair, and Scott Garland regarding the town's 300th anniversary celebrations.
