Select Board approves DPW building borrowing, establishes Town Hall committee
Select Board · Meeting of June 16, 2026
Upton Select Board authorizes $1.5 million capital project borrowing and building committee appointments. Chair Brett Simas and Select Members Maureen Dwinnell and Laura Hebb unanimously approved Bond Anticipation Notes for the DPW Building Renovation/Expansion Project at 3.100 percent interest from Unibank. The Board also voted unanimously to establish a five-member Town Hall Building Committee for a renovation project exceeding $1.5 million, with the Town saving approximately $135,000 by using internal staff for project management.
The Board declined to schedule a July Special Town Meeting for Holy Angels roof repairs despite public support and DPW Director Dennis Westgate's estimate of approximately $285,012 for full restoration of the 1851-built structure.
